Amateur pianist Andy Siu returns to hometown Vancouver to play an all-Chopin program at the Vancouver Academy of Music's Mary Olson Hall. Following an incredibly successful debut in Ottawa with the Chopin for CHEO charity concert, where over $2,000 was raised in support of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Bring your friends on Saturday, June 22 at 1:30pm for an easygoing afternoon of enchanting classical music!
The Program
The program will feature fan-favorite pieces from the Chopin for CHEO event, such as the Ballade no. 1 in G minor and the Ballade no. 3 in A-flat major, alongside select Études and other quintessential pieces.
The Venue
Founded in 1969, the Vancouver Academy of Music (VAM) is a non-profit institution spreading a love of learning and musical excellence. Minutes away from downtown in a traffic-calmed location, VAM’s spacious facilities offer a home for music-making against the scenic backdrop of Vancouver’s waterfront and the fields of Vanier Park.
Mary Olson Hall is one of two recital halls located at the Vancouver Academy of Music. With an 80-seat capacity and a 6' Yamaha Grand, it is the smaller of the two and is perfect for smaller community events, performances, and classes.
