The Basic Amateur Radio Licensing Course will be held on four consecutive Saturdays at:
March 14 - Salt Spring Legion - 120 Blain Rd, Salt Spring Island (Across from Country Grocer)
March 21, 28 & Apr4 - Portlock Park Meeting Room - 145 Vesuvius Bay Road, Salt Spring Island
Course dates and schedule:
1. Saturday, March 14, 2020 - Registration 9:30am - 10am Course 10am - 3:30pm
2. Saturday, March 21, 2020 - 10am - 3:30pm
3. Saturday, March 28, 2020 - 10am - 3:30pm
4. Saturday April 4, 2020 - 10am - 3:30pm (Includes examination)

Who will teach the course?
The course will be conducted by the Cowichan Valley Amateur Radio Society. The instructor is Les Dawes.
Is there any charge for this course?
The course, all study materials and final examination are free of charge. The Salt Spring Amateur Radio Society (in cooperation with the Salt Spring Emergency Operations Centre) are presenting this course as a public service for the residents of Salt Spring.
Are there any ID or minimum age requirements to take the course?
There are no age restrictions or other prerequisites for candidates who wish to take the course or examinations. Candidates must provide adequate photo identification to examiners prior to the examination.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the course?
Portlock Park and the Legion are readily accessible by bike, car and public transport from several directions. There is space available for bikes and cars at both locations.
What should I bring to the course?
Notebook and pencil or pen. Registrants will be expected to bring their own lunch/snacks and refreshments. Pets are not allowed with the exception of a registered guide or assistance dog.
