Is free parking available?

Free street parking is available within a few blocks of the library. Be sure to read street signs carefully for restrictions. Underground pay parking is accessible via 14th Street from Chesterfield Avenue. Pay parking is $1 per hour, plus a 25¢ fee.

Is the event on a bus route?

Accepted Answer

Yes! City Hall is a short walk from bus stops on the following routes: 229, 230, 232, 240, 241, 255. Buses provide accessible service for wheelchairs and scooters, as well as bike racks. Schedules can be found on Translink’s main or mobile website.

Is the event wheelchair accessible?

Accepted Answer

Yes. North Vancouver City Hall and the Library have automatic entrance doors and elevator access to all levels. Staff can assist with priority seating at the event.

Is there a cost to attend?

All events are FREE! The Festival would not be made possible without support from the Friends of the Library groups from all three North Shore Libraries, North Shore Writers’ Association, KidsBooks, and the North Shore News.

Registration is required to secure your spot. Drop-in seating may be available but is not guaranteed.

How long has the North Shore Writers Festival been running?

The North Shore Writes Festival started in 2000. The Festival is presented in partnership by North Vancouver City Library, North Vancouver District Public Library, and West Vancouver Memorial Library.

Can I bring children?

Events are open to all ages though some of the subject matter may not be suitable for children.
