844 Saint Mary's Road Winnipeg, MB R2M 3P4 CanadaIn Canada, access to social and educational opportunities is crucial for the development of young Black men and boys. Despite the benefits of mentorship, many Black youth face obstacles in accessing mentors, often due to a lack of understanding of the value of mentorship or societal pressures to appear self-reliant. This can lead to feelings of isolation and negatively impact mental health.
This edition of the Barbershop Talk Series, titled "Addressing the Importance of Mentors for Canadian Black Males" seeks to create a safe space for discussion, allowing the community to explore ways to support meaningful mentorship for young Black men and boys.
