Building and Customizing Your WordPress Site - Online [Women 18+]

Add products and services, pages, and customization to your WordPress site.

This workshop is for people who have a product or service that they are ready to share online. We'll cover how to choose and customize a WordPress theme that suits your needs, including how to use page templates, create and reorder custom menus, and link pages within your site.

This program is designed for beginner-level computer users.

Who is this for?

• “I have some coding skills but I’m looking to try my hand at something new!”
• “I have financial barriers that make it hard to pay for classes and training”

This event is for women in Canada, designed in a way that seeks to explicitly welcome cis women, trans women, and those outside the gender binary who feel comfortable in women-centered spaces.

We believe that addressing the gender gap in tech is just one part of building digital equity. A more just and equitable future for technology in Canada means building programming that supports, empowers, and equips all learners who historically have been—and continue to be—underrepresented in tech, particularly Black, Indigenous and other Racialized learners, people in low-income communities and newcomer learners.

• You must join with a laptop or computer for which you have administrative permissions.
• You may be required to download some free software. After you sign up we will email detailed instructions if you need to download anything.
