E. Brooke Hayes, PhD candidate and director of the EcoSoil lab at the University of Victoria will lead an in-lab and on-farm workshop on biologically active soil.

Part one (click here to register): Two hour in-lab session at UVic on understanding biological amendments, and how biologically active compost can increase local soil biology and improve productivity and plant health.

Part two: Three hour hands-on field workshop at Sandown Centre putting theoretical knowledge into practice by building biologically active compost, creating compost tea and extract, and application considerations such as rates, methods and frequency.

Note: Bring a jar to take your own compost extract home with you!
