In this one-hour session, participants will explore the dynamics of generational diversity and learn practical strategies for fostering inclusivity across age groups. Through experiential learning activities, group discussions, and case studies, attendees will gain insights into the unique perspectives, strengths, and challenges of different generations in the workplace. From debunking stereotypes to addressing age-related biases, this workshop equips participants with the knowledge and tools to create a more inclusive and supportive work environment for people of all ages.
About the speakers
Jim Morris
Jim has worked in or led purpose-driven consulting organizations for most of his career. Jim now works with leaders to develop and hone their inclusion skills while helping their organizations ensure their work sticks at a systemic level. He facilitates, speaks, and writes extensively on the topic and delivers global workshops and keynotes to corporate audiences. Jim began his career as an educator and earned his stripes working in experiential and adventure-based learning programs. His perspective on leadership is grounded in firsthand experience, having held leadership roles at the Santa Fe Mountain Center, Outward Bound, Pecos River/Aon Consulting, one world learning, WMFDP |FDP Global, and Unstoppable Performance Leaders. He has been an adjunct faculty at Duke Leadership and Training Associates, Virginia Tech, The Executive Forum, and The American Leadership Forum. As Jim's professional journey evolved, it became clear that embedding inclusion in organizations is an organizational development and change management process. As a result, he gained additional training and experience in those disciplines to complement his DEI, coaching, and leadership development skills. In addition to an extensive library of blogs and keynotes on leadership and diversity, Jim has thus far authored 2 books: a book on leadership titled The Five Insights of Enduring Leaders in 2007 and Gaslights and Dog
Maria Martinez
Maria Martinez, a DEIB consultant, leverages her diverse background—born in Mexico, raised in the deep South—to strategically address systemic barriers within organizations. With over a decade of international experience, Maria excels in creating high-performing teams for government agencies, non-profits, and Fortune 500 institutions. Her expertise lies in translating complex issues into actionable steps, guiding senior leaders to achieve sustainable workplace equity.
Notably, Maria served as the Deputy Director of Caucus Services for the Georgia House Caucus, advocating for government responsibility, economic security, healthcare, and educational opportunities. Her impact extends beyond boardrooms, where she streamlines policies and eliminates disparities in communities. A graduate in Government and International Affairs from George Mason University, Maria combines lived experiences, research, and data to drive meaningful change in DEIB practices.
