About this event

As leaders of Christian nonprofits iin 2024, we pursue our organizational and personal mission and mandate in a VUCA world-- volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous. Constant change is increasingly the norm-- and with that, the certainties around which we have developed our institutional sense of meaning, core values, and standard operating procedures are being eroded year by year with troubling results. Charitable giving declined in Canada in 2022 for the first year since 2016. Dramatic leadership failures have challenged Canadians' trust that NGOs can be competent and effective and do the right thing. 43% more Christian charities closed their doors in 2022 than new ones registered.

Yet, as Peter Drucker said, the greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence itself: it is to act with yesterday's logic. Alan Hirsch, co-author of Metanoia: How God Radically Transforms People, Churches and Organizations From the Inside Out sees this current disruptive cultural moment as an opportunity for metanoia, or transformation of mind, soul and will. When individuals and organizations view our VUCA world with this renewed heart, it increases their ability to adapt, to mature, to persevere, to be resilient, and above all, to advance the mission to which we have been called. This premiere TEMPO Talks webinar with keynote speaker Alan Hirsch and a panel of leading practitioners will invite participants to embark on a personal and collective journey of transformational change.
