Community Living Oakville is a non-profit charitable organization that has held a longstanding reputation within Oakville and the Halton region for 70 years. Our organization provides support to over 300 people in our community with developmental disabilities and employs 300 staff, all of whom are dedicated to ensuring that everyone can enjoy their right to lead active and productive lives in our community.
CLO strongly believes in the importance of advocacy for those that are vulnerable or underrepresented and we empower the people we support to advocate for their rights of equality and inclusion within our local community.
While our organization is ministry funded, the support received only covers basic everyday essentials – like food, shelter, utilities, transportation and staff. And like most government funded service providers; we often need to do more with less.
Last year, Community Living Oakville held our 1st Annual Food Truck Friday event in partnership with Sheridan College at their Oakville campus as a way to bring people we support together for the first time since the Covid-19 closures.
After a successful first year, we are incredibly excited to hold our event this May in the heart of Oakville Towne Square where we can strengthen our partnerships with community facilities and local businesses.
In effort to bring awareness and education to the community about people with developmental disabilities and their involvement within Oakville, we invite you to join us during the month of May - Community Living Month - to celebrate diversity and inclusion together. By building community partnerships, we have witnessed increased community awareness and inclusion – contributing to an inclusive community.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
