About this event

  • 1 hour

Come explore the bountiful nature right in your backyard! Join environmental educators for a guided hike through Fanshawe Park Conservation Area. Using iNaturalist, we will learn how to identify plant and animal species in London, all while enjoying the fresh air, sights, and sounds of the outdoors. Come prepared with your Smartphone and iNaturalist pre-downloaded (if you are not able to download iNaturalist or don't have a Smartphone, you are still welcome to attend!).

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear and dress for the weather. The trails taken on the hike will be weather-dependent.

NOTE: This is a family event - an adult must accompany any children who want to participate (please select the number of tickets for each person in your party). No bathrooms will be available.

Meeting Location: Meet us at the entrance to the Tamarack Trail at Fanshawe Conservation Area.

Help track biodiversity in London by participating in the City Nature Challenge!

The CNC is an international community science event in which regions compete to make the most observations of nature. Community science data is useful for tracking trends in biodiversity and can inform local conservation management and land use planning. Participating in the CNC is a way for you to contribute to protecting wildlife and habitat in London!

From April 26th to 29th, make observations of wild plants, animals and fungi and upload the photos or sounds into iNaturalist.
