ABOUT THIS SESSION
First Nations Engagement: Key Salmon Enhancement Initiatives
Salmon hatcheries play a key role in supporting and restoring vulnerable populations of Pacific salmon. In addition to investing in hatcheries to improve capacity to support conservation activities, DFO is interested in engaging with First Nations and stakeholders on hatchery modernization efforts. This session will provide an update on DFO’s salmon enhancement work and investments to reduce risks and increase conservation and rebuilding of fragile Pacific salmon stocks under the Pacific Salmon Strategy Initiative and provide an opportunity for dialogue.
