About this event

  • 1 day 6 hours

After 3 years of construction and anticipation, our new monastery buildings are finally complete.

Before our Buddhist nuns move in, we’re opening our doors and inviting everyone in!

Walk within the monastery halls and learn about our Buddhist traditions and culture. Engage with informative displays, participate in interactive activities, and explore insights within our Buddhist teachings. Our Buddhist nuns will also be sharing personal stories and demonstrating Buddhist debate.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime event as the buildings will no longer be open to the public once they become our living quarters. So bring your family and friends! This event is open to all.

We look forward to meeting you and sharing a glimpse into our way of life.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take photos in the monastery?

Because this is our living quarters, we kindly ask visitors to refrain from taking photos and recording video indoors.

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably! We recommend comfortable shoes as there will be quite a bit of walking if you want to see everything. There is no strict dress code, but visitors typically dress in a respectful manner.

Can I walk around your monastery without taking off my shoes?

Yes!

Can I keep my hat on in the prayer hall?

We typically remove our hats to show respect, but we keep them on for health reasons or if it’s cold.

Can I bring pets?

We ask that pets stay outside.

How do I greet a Buddhist nun?

As Buddhist nuns, we typically put our palms together and give a slight bow. Feel free to wave as well!
