What to do if your far from any help and take a tumble while hiking that results in a serious wound or sprain, or you burn yourself badly on a hot element taking cookies out of the oven, or get stung by a swarm of bees while gardening?

In this workshop, you will learn what herbs, herbal preparations and other natural remedies can be used in first aid to address common injuries and ailments at home, in the field, and when travelling.

You will learn:

· The herbs and preparations used for burns, wounds, insect bites, strains, sprains, toothaches, fractures, fevers, infections, digestive issues, and so on.

· What herbs to wild-harvest in a field emergency.

· How to put together a first aid kit.

· What herbs, essential oils, Bach flowers and homeopathic remedies to include in your kit.

· Some basic first aid skills.

The workshop will include both instruction and demonstration. Participants will receive copious handouts and will take home preparations that we make together during the workshop.

You can attend the workshop in person or via zoom. If you attend by zoom, you will receive a $10 discount for the cost of materials used in making the preparations.

Date: Saturday, May 18 from 10 am to 5 pm.

Cost: In-person: $100; via zoom: $90.

Yes, I will go over what herbs to use and their properties and how to use them.

Do I have to be a herbalist to attend this workshop?

No, everyone can attend and you don't need previous herbal knowledge to benefit from this workshop.

Will this workshop address first aid for the whole family including children?

Yes, everything you learn can be applied to any one. Where appropriate I will be making suggestions on how to modify for age whether young or elderly.

Do I have to attend in person?

No, you can attend via Zoom. The cost of materials will be discounted $10.00, but you will still receive all the handouts.

If I attend by Zoom, will what you teach be relevant to where I live?

Yes, the protocols will always be the same. What herbs you use may vary, but you will be able substitute herbs that are readily available to you in your area.
