Discover the captivating history of Hogg’s Hollow in the Yonge & York Mills area along the west branch of the Don River. Named after James Hogg, an immigrant to Toronto in 1824, this neighbourhood boasts a rich heritage. Explore the challenges of constructing Yonge St. through the Hollow, learn about North York’s involvement in the 1837 Upper Canada Rebellion and visit Toronto’s second-oldest Anglican church. Continuing into the 20th century, the tour stops at the former residence of renowned Canadian artist C. W. Jefferys, highlighting the area's modernization alongside tales of heroism and heartbreak. This tour has been developed by the North York Historical Society.
