Event description

Description

This event is for York University students who think they might be interested in doing a graduate degree at some point in their future. The event is geared towards 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year undergraduate students, but any York student who is thinking about graduate school in their future (Fall 2021 or beyond) is more than welcome to attend.

This event will cover:

1. What is graduate school? What is a master's? What's a PhD? What would you even study?

2. What are the requirements to apply to a graduate degree? Why would someone do one? What jobs can you get?

3. The best ways to prepare for graduate school way before you apply - in your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th year.

4. How to apply, when to apply, where to apply.

5. Any other questions you might have! This event will allow lots of time for Q&A, and discussion.

Please note that this event will only cover how to prepare for graduate studies at York University.

ACCESSIBILITY

This event is held in a building with automatic (motion sensored) wide door access. The room itself has an extra wide door, with push-button access. The room is well lit, with a large screen, and seating can be arranged to accomodate participant needs. Outside noise during evening events is usually a non-issue, but during the day the building is busy and outside noise may be louder than normal.

A gender neutral washroom is available.

Any other accommodations needed, including interpreters, can be arranged with advanced notice.
