Intermediate & Advanced Spring Field Trip: Tantramar Marsh Exploration & Fish Tagging

- Pick-up at Tantramar Wetland Centre in Sackville, NS (10 minute drive from Beaubassin)
- Pay-what-you-can, but full cost is $80/participant
- Maximum 8 participants

Join us for a day of hands-on wetland exploration, tagging fish and touring the Tantramar Wetland Centre in Sackville, New Brunswick! For this day program, we’ll be joining staff from Ducks Unlimited Canada to explore the local wetlands and learn about their diversity and conservation!
We’ll start at the Beaubassin Research Centre, where we'll introduce Terranaut Club and Ducks Unlimited Canada before we do a brief tour of the Centre and Laboratory. We'll then travel by car to Front Lake (`~15 minutes), where we'll learn about and assist with conservation research by tagging, measuring, and releasing fish. We'll then travel by car to the Tantramar Wetland Centre (~15 minutes), where we'll have lunch and proceed into our afternoon activity of touring the Centre, critter dipping in the marsh, and birding.
Participants should come prepared with a lunch and snacks, good hiking shoes, warm clothes, tall rubber boots, a backpack, and a raincoat.
Unlike our summer programs, there is no nomination process for field trips. Registration is first come, first served, and can be completed on the program’s Eventbrite page. This program is pay-what-you-can, and your donation must be made upon registering.
