YEAR THREE!

We are excited to be hosting this event for the third year and hope you will consider joining us. With the help of last year’s sponsors and golfers, we were able to raise $25,807 for Chloe and her family, which allowed them some relief while battling the financial, emotional, and physical challenges that childhood cancer sadly brings.

This year, we are sponsoring Memphis, a 4-year-old boy who was diagnosed with a large inoperable brain tumor. We are hoping to help alleviate some of the financial stress for him and his family. By sponsoring a family rather than an organization, your donations will contribute directly to the specific and immediate needs of Memphis and his family.

Please see Memphis' Story below

When Memphis was 2 he started to develop a slightly lazy eye or so we thought. We had been going back and forth with patching of the eye and clinic visits until just after his 3rd birthday when we tried to patch it again after an optometrist appointment and his response broke my heart he told me "Why did you turn the light off, where did you go". At that moment I’d never picked up my cell phone so fast and called the clinic, within 24 hours we were at Cheo Ophthalmology.

From there we discovered his right eye had very poor vision and a pale nerve. We were then sent for an MRI to "make sure" there was no issue on the other end. That's where our story begins, on October 20th our son was diagnosed with a large brain tumor measuring at 6.5 x 6.5 x 5.1 cm.

Memphis tumor is found in the grand central station of the brain resulting in often headaches and discomfort. He was also diagnosed with Asthma and a speech delay during our visit. Memphis has since undergone a 13-hour open brain biopsy. Memphis’ tumor is in-operatable due to location, Neurosurgery believes the risks don't out way the pros in attempting to debulk the tumor. He has started on an 18-month chemotherapy journey through weekly injections into a port cath implanted in his chest.

Unfortunately, we found out in our last scan in January that his tumor had increased in size, causing Memphis to lose complete vision in his right eye. This means we may have to pivot our treatment plan and turn to a different medication to help stabilize the tumor.

Memphis is beyond resilient, he shines his light for everyone to see. He started junior kindergarten in September though his journey looks different than the average child. Even 1 or 2 days a week in the classroom is a nice refresh of normalcy.

He has a 3-year-old brother Kizer, who is a built-in best friend, his brother watches out for his port and encourages him to be brave when he has hospital visits.

Memphis loves swimming! We call him a little fish! He enjoys playing sports and will play outside at any time in any weather condition.

We are so beyond thankful for this community holding us together through these moments of hardship.
