About this event

  • 1 hour

Kai Cheng Thom (she/her), MSW, MSc, QMed, is a writer, performer, somatic coach, and professional dialogue facilitator. An award-winning author and thought leader on revolutionary love, trauma healing, and transformative approaches to conflict and harm, Kai Cheng's books have received honors including the Publishing Triangle Award, the Stonewall Honor Book Award, and the Dayne Ogilvie Prize for Emerging LGBT Writers. Kai Cheng has been featured in The New York Times, Teen Vogue, and The Toronto Star for her literary work, and has trained hundreds of wellness professionals as a Faculty member of The Embody Lab and The Institute for the Study of Somatic Sex Education.

Kai Cheng joins us for a conversation on the topics of hope, resilience, and building bridges in highly polarized times. She will also discuss her latest book and instant Canadian national bestseller, Falling Back in Love with Being Human: Letters to Lost Souls, a series of poetic love letters dedicated to exploring the potential of radical love as a response to hatred, prejudice, and social shaming. Kai Cheng's work represents a powerful invitation to embody a better world in the midst of strife.

In conversation with writer, translator and multi-arts curator, Nedra Rodrigo (she/they).

Book signing will occur before the program between 6-7 pm. Books will be available for purchase.
