Are you bonsai curious? Or just a general plant enthusiast? Perhaps even...a fanatic? If so, we should be friends!
This one-day event is for all the plant lovers out there or anyone looking to try something new that brings joy.The art and practice of kusamono and bonsai are centered in the concept of biophilic design - a proven concept that bringing the outside into our inside spaces in an intentional way "has been found to support cognitive function, physical health, and psychological well-being". (If you need a reference to that report for your housemates to defend your plant habit, I'd be happy to provide it).
This is what this day will be all about, starting with some theory on biophilia, history of the art and then we will spend the rest of the morning in the foothills experiencing some of the plants we will be using in their natural habitat, gaining inspiration, discussing best practices for wild harvesting and perhaps doing some plant collection.
We will go back to the Lodge for lunch (bring your own) and then spend the afternoon creating individual arrangements which will go home with you! With directions on care and maintenance of course.
This event will be limited to a small group size, so get in touch asap to hold your spot!
