Join us for an insightful session on Leveraging Partnership with Universities to Achieve your

R & D Goals.


During this lunch and learn we will focus on helping founders connect and collaborate with

universities for their research and development efforts while leveraging government funding.

The interactive session will feature a presentation by Matthew Doyle, Industry Engagement

Manager from the Office of Commercialization & Industry Engagement at Dalhousie

University.


Discussion Topics:

1. Overview of Government Funding Programs: Matthew will provide valuable insights into

the various government funding programs available for collaborations with universities, both

with and without financial contributions from the company. He will discuss the application

processes, deadline dates, and expected turnaround times for these programs.

2. Working with Dalhousie University: The session will also cover the process of working

with Dalhousie University, including the identification of potential collaborators, intellectual

property considerations, and anticipated project outcomes.

Facilitator: Matthew Doyle

Matthew Doyle is the Manager, Computer Science, Office of Commercialization and Industry Engagement (OCIE) at Dalhousie University. His role is to facilitate research collaborations betweenfaculty members in computer science and industry partners.

Matthew joins OCIE after 9 years in an academic research environment at the University of Toronto and the University Health Network, where he led a multidisciplinary research team working on engineering and clinical research projects.

Matthew holds a BEng in Biological Engineering from Dalhousie and an MASc and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa.
