The event is hosted in the United Way Boardroom. Please go Up the hill to the back(higher level) of the building, and look for the EAST entrance. Please note that Google maps will not direct you accurately!

Who is this event for?

This workshop is tailored for employers, people managers, and hiring managers who want to improve their ability to communicate effectively with colleagues or candidates from diverse linguistic backgrounds --whether you already work with people from around the world or are contemplating hiring them.

Who are the facilitators leading the workshop?

Lydia Mountney, Language Assessment Team Lead at the YMCA and Lily Magnus, the Newcomer Employment Outreach Coordinator at Kinbridge Community Association

How will the facilitators enhance my workshop experience?

Lydia Mountney has been an ESL teacher for 25 years. Her teaching experience includes work in Canada, Senegal, Niger, Madagascar and UK. Lily Magnus has worked with newcomers for over 15 years, including 8 years as an ESL teacher, and has also been shaped by her experience of being raised in Africa.
