N.E.W Venture Program: Empowerment through Entrepreneurship
N.E.W Venture is a 6-month intensive program that offers participants the opportunity to develop their business idea into a viable business. We do this through weekly training sessions, 1:1 mentorship, support with access to funding and ongoing networking and
in-person events.
This program is for YOU if you are:
- Resident of Ontario
- Newcomer or refugee status
- CLB Level 5/6 or higher
- Existing business or business idea
- Able to commit 10+ hrs a week starting Sept 2024
Program Benefits:
- Develop entrepreneurial skills and learn how to own and operate a business in Canada
- Get paired with a mentor who understands your industry and is committed to your success
- Develop your network and connections within the Canadian business community
- Access funding: up to 10k in prize funding available

The Syrian Canadian Foundation (SCF) was founded in January 2016 as a response to the Canadian government’s commitment to resettling Syrian refugees. Recognizing the importance of dedicated support, we’ve been ensuring newcomers experience a smooth transition ever since. Our mission has been to create a lasting positive impact in the lives of those we welcome.
Collaborating with partners and volunteers who share our vision of inclusivity and empowerment, we’ve cultivated a robust network of support. Our programs encompass essential areas, from language training and individualized help for newcomer and refugee women, to youth mental wellness and personal development. Since our inception, numerous success stories have unfolded. Individuals and families have not only rebuilt their lives and pursued their dreams, but also contributed to the fabric of Canadian society.
