Civilian Data Entry (CDE) Clerks provide essential transcription services to uniform police officers, allowing the officers to spend more time on frontline services. The CDE Unit has improved the quality and timeliness of occurrence data in the records management system.

New employees are hired on a contract basis.

Applicants undergo a pre-hire testing process designed to measure abilities in areas such as:

The OPP’s Civilian Data Entry Unit provides support to uniform police officers across the province, operating on a 24/7/365 basis and located exclusively in Orillia.
