About this event

Looking for an opportunity to help nature? Join us in restoring a natural habitat at NCC’s Pendleton Island Nature Reserve.

Just off the northern tip of Deer Island in Passamaquoddy Bay lies a stunning and undeveloped island. The Pendleton Island Nature Reserve is mostly forested, with several sandy beaches and rocky shorelines. Help us care for this island by removing an old cabin from the forest.

During this day-long event, we will remove the remnants of an old hunting cabin. We need your help with hauling the cabin’s remnants from the forest to the shoreline. A boat will then transport the debris to a dumpster on nearby Deer Island. We will work as a team to carry lumber and other debris from the site to the shore, approximately 500 metres along a coastal trail. Participants need to be capable of lifting and carrying multiple loads of heavy debris over a rough terrain.
