In partnership with Gallery 44, Open Studio is offering a 1 day, photo-based screenprinting workshop. Participants will use photo stencil methods to transfer ink onto paper. This course is suitable for photo-based or computer manipulated imagery. No prior printing experience necessary. Materials are included.

Instructor Bio
Jessica Palmer (she/her) is an artist, designer and screenprinter from Epekwitk/PEI, who is based in Tkaronto/Toronto.
Currently pursuing her masters in Landscape Architecture at the University of Toronto, she also works as a screenprinter and installation technician with galleries throughout Toronto. Jessica maintains a multi-disciplinary art practice that includes making, teaching and collaborating with other artists.
Using visual information harvested from personal archives and found objects, she uses methodical tools such as print media and photography to explore identity through a material lens. These small acts aim to play with notions of value and place, while highlighting relationships to the physical world.
Jessica holds a BFA from Mount Allison University and her work has been exhibited nationally, including CONTACT Festival and Open Studio (Toronto, ON), Third Shift (Saint John, NB) Galerie Sans Nom (Moncton, NB), the Khyber Centre for the Arts (Halifax, NS).

Open Studio
Open Studio is a non-profit Artist-Run Centre dedicated to contemporary printmaking. We provide accessible, inclusive, and affordable facilities, programs, and services for artists and the public from across Canada and abroad.
Our primary goal is to support artists in creating and exhibiting contemporary prints within an open-minded, safe, and collaborative environment.
We aim to promote printmaking by providing access to studio facilities, educational programs, residencies, exhibitions, and public art installations.
