Policy Working Group Zoom call (Tuesday, June, 4th)

Raising the Villages is organizing a Policy Working Group. The aim of the group will be to develop policy recommendations, and in communication with the provincial government, to offer these for their consideration in advance of the 2025 budget process. This will allow the government to have time to fully consider the policy recommendations and ideally – implement them.

In this spirit, we are seeking interested individuals/groups/organizations to support this upstream initiative and to join the working group by registering for one of two Zoom calls taking place between 10-11:30am on both Tuesday, June, 4th and Thursday, June 6th 2024. It is our intention that these Zoom calls be inclusive with ‘everyone invited to sit at the table’ including community champions, non-profits, community groups, professionals, elected officials, and so on.

These initial Zoom calls will be an opportunity for collaboration and to open a conversation on how to ‘keep the lights on’ in our welcoming spaces. Spaces that are aligned with positively impacting (the priorities of the Community Health Board Program) social isolation, early childhood, housing, food security, and most complex of all – poverty reduction. We see these priorities linking directly with infant, child, youth, and community mental health.

Please note: we ask that you register for either Zoom call by the end of business hours on Tuesday, May, 28th.

There is capacity for 20 people to register via each link. The calls have limited capacity in order to ensure a fluidity of conversation and the opportunity to share ideas and knowledge, so we ask that if you are not able to attend after registering that you please let us know at your first possible convenience by sending an email to raisingthevillages@gmail.com.
