About this event

  • 1 hour

Get set for an afternoon of family fun and laughter as we gather for a delightful hangout at Mission Creek! Join us for yard games, good company, and plenty of sunshine. It's the perfect opportunity to relax, play, and make cherished memories together.

In addition to our regular meetup, some families can choose to join in on our additional walking-tour with the RDCO as we explore the fascinating realm of bear observation and learn about the diverse bear population of the Okanagan. Discover how to identify these majestic creatures and explore ways we can support and protect them. Our program includes an insightful walk through the wilderness, immersing ourselves in the beauty of nature, as well as bear artifacts and furs.

Members can enjoy this event for an additional cost of $3.50/child, while non-members are welcome to join for just $7.50 per child. (tickets will be available exclusively to members for 1-week before they are opened to the public)

Let's deepen our appreciation for the natural world together!

The goal of Sticks & Stones is to get kids back outside and connected with nature, while meeting & bonding with fellow children & parents alike. We loosely follow the "ENWC" curriculum timeline, which follows the natural calendar of Mother Nature and encourages children to explore all the wonder that the earth has to offer. From freshly budding flowers, to the lifecycles of birds, bees, bugs, amphibians, and more... there's always something for the children to explore & learn, while also expanding on their social interactions as well.

We will have special events throughout the year, from park-rangers that will take us on guided nature explorations, to family events, arts & crafts days, and even a special activity with the Canadian Space Agency where we will have the children plant tomato seeds that took a trip to space!!!

Come join us when you can! Be sure to read the write-ups each week, as they may slightly vary each time.
