About this event

How do you catch the thread of your own mythic story?

Do you, your family or community have a process for connecting more deeply to the story that’s dreaming you?

Weaving the tools of Renewal of Creative Path with Story Catching to track where we've been and better design where we are headed.

Renewal of Creative Path, ROCP, is an 8 question process that tracks synchronicities, patterns, stepping stones and more to connect us with our purpose and place in the larger story of our life.

This process is developed by Jon Young and the 8 Shields / Connection 1st team through research and long term mentoring relationships with many elders around the world, including Tom Brown jr of the Thracker School, Jon's teachers among the Kalahari Bushmen, Ingwe, Jake and Judy Swamp, Mohawk wisdom keepers and others.

Story Catching is a series of tools that I learned from Grace Upshaw who gathered them from various practices such as improv, Quaker meetings, and other modalities to support us in listening in different ways for various aspects of a personal story, to draw out deeper meanings, mirror, and harvest the gems within.

Both practices tune our ears to the stories, both simple day-to-day ones, and more life-changing moments. They help us track where we have been and shine a light on the path forward.

About your host: Hi, I’m Belinda White, nature connection mentor, storyteller, earth artist and symbol tracker. I have long understood the power of story, whether the simple ‘sharing the meat of the tongue’, catching the excited tellings of big events or surprise a-has, or holding space for grief.

My deep quest is to understand and nurture the function of story telling and story catching, and ask is it deep in our bones, one of the oldest ways we learn, hwo we integrate and grow?

I have found this to be so! I have benefitted myself enormously from the ROCP practice through Jon Young’s / Connection 1st Village Talk and I have offered it in person and online in collaboration with Grace Upshaw several times.

Better late than never. This is a last minute, and an offer I hope to nurture and grow. i would be honoured if you'd join us for an intimate cohort of inner trackers…

It has been said that the gift is found in the wound, the medicine you need is in your hands; and, that you’re never right when you track alone. These three guide my outer and inner foraging and tracking, making meaning, medicine, story, and art along the way.... Hi there, my name is Belinda, you might know me as a passionate story teller, a photographer, or a nature connection mentor, or, perhaps you once watched me make a scene on the bus in an attempt to spark community care and connection. However you arrived here, welcome. You are needed exactly as you are. I hope one of the sticky threads I am weaving gathers you in.
