Who is the Run Club for?

The Run Club is here to serve you. If youre looking to get ready for a marathon; or finally ready to get off the couch and just aiming to get your body moving; or if all you want to do is maintain mobility; or if you dont like working out alone for whatever reason; or if your lunch hour is the only time of day you have to get a sweat in; or if youre wanting to capitalize on your lunch hour to be another workout you can fit into your day... this is for you.


My goal:

To build a lunch hour run community to promote a healthy lifestyle.

To make running fun.

Pass on tips and tricks that can maximize the benifits of running. Bettering you form, cardio, & recovery.


Route:

Leave 12:10pm - RUMBLE BOXING (Bay and Bloor - entrance on Cumberland east of Bay.)

500m To - Laps around Queens Park (Avenue & Bloor)

RETURN 1pm: RUMBLE BOXING

Laps around the oval are 800m. Within the time frame you can run from 3k to 5k (8k if you really wanted to push yourself)


Things to note:

  • Do not take up the entire sidewalk, please allow oncoming traffic space to pass to the left.
  • If you're slowing down or wanting to walk - please keep to the right.
  • If you're running fast and are approaching someone, and you'll be passing close, pass to their left.
  • Please wear appropriate running attire.


FAQ

Can we leave bags at the gym?
There are cubbies at the gym to leave belongings.

Are there showers?
There are also showers if you so please.

Water?
We sell water at the gym for $4.50 but we do have a fountain for your reusable bottles.

What if I cant keep up?
Walking is welcome! Dont feel pressured to run the whole time, but if you want to push yourself, I'm excited to see the effort! We're running in laps, so no one will be far away.

What if I get caught at the traffic light?
There are only 3 lights to concern yourself with, the group wont get far. Please abide by the traffic signs.

Headphones?
If you want to zone out, by all means, please keep in mind we are downtown, and running with headphones can be dangerous as you may not hear people or vehicles approaching.

What if it's raining?
We're running (light) rain or shine and as low as -2. Dress accordingly.
