Once completed, the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) will be the world’s largest archaeological museum and house over 100,000 objects dating from prehistoric to Roman periods. Most notably, almost all objects from Tutankhamun’s tomb will be on display for the very first time. Dr. Abbas will present an overview of this massive project, highlight some star objects that will be exhibited in its galleries, and report the latest progress made toward the full opening of the museum to the public.
This event will support the Sally Katary Scholarship Fund, please consider a donation to help students attend the Annual SSEA Symposium.
This is a hybrid event, hosted online Via Zoom and in person.
Join in person at the University of Toronto, Sidney Smith Hall, Room 1071.
