If you've ever wanted to learn how to paint or dust off those rusty painting skills, this is an excellent opportunity! This course is six weeks long, starting Wednesday, June 5. Join me each Wed from 7-9 pm to learn how to paint a beautiful seascape.

Starting Wed., June 5, for 6 weeks

7-9pm at Studio on the Farm

(Dates: June 5, June 12, June 19, June 26, July 3, July 10)

Classes are taught in a relaxed, college-style method. Lessons are designed for older teens and adults at a beginner level. Small class sizes of up to 8 people mean everyone gets the chance for lots of one-on-one guidance and a comfortable environment to ask questions and really dive into learning how to paint. Techniques are demonstrated as Jenny will guide you step-by-step, painting alongside with you. The class may be small in size but it is big in fun and learning - and you may just make a friend or two along the way!

There are two fee options for this course: one includes a basic art kit containing a set of paints (white, black, ultramarine blue, cadmium red, and cadmium yellow), brushes, a palette, and a 16x20" canvas. The other fee does not include an art kit and requires that you purchase your own supplies. Paints must be artist/student quality acrylics and not craft/folk art paint. I can recommend supplies if you want to purchase your own.

For those buying their own supplies: Canvas size recommendations - 16x20” or 18x24”. Please check in with me if you plan to bring a canvas 36” or larger. Extra homework will be needed to complete larger works to keep up with the class.

You may choose your own reference photo or select from the options I will send to you once you sign up. All my reference photos are licensed. If you select your own photo, it must be high resolution (300 dpi). I recommend you bring a printed copy and also have one saved to your phone so you can zoom in on details as needed.

Please stick to the subject of a seascape for this course. The techniques we will be learning will apply to water and nature scenes. Please avoid people or animals taking up a large portion of your reference photo. The subject/focus should be water.

This course requires a minimum of four people to run. So please feel free to invite your friends!

Studio on the Farm is an inclusive, welcoming space for all. We have zero tolerance for divisive, racist, homophobic, etc. discord. Please help us keep the studio a safe place for everyone! Thank you!
