Our book club is led by SFU English alumnus and Langara instructor Glenn Deefholts.

We will begin by reading the short story, “Survivors’ Pension” by S.G. Wong

"Survivors' Pension" comes from the anthology, Vancouver Noir , edited by Sam Wiebe, who was SFU English's 2023 writer-in-residence and is currently the department's Shadbolt fellow.

S.G. Wong or Sandra SG Wong (she/her) writes fiction across genres, including the cross-genre, award-nominated Lola Starke novels and Crescent City short stories, and the bestselling standalone thriller and Anthony Awards finalist, IN THE DARK WE FORGET.

Wong has been involved with genre and literary organizations, conferences, festivals, and workshops across Canada and the United States. She served on the Sisters in Crime national board as its first president of Asian heritage, and founded its DEIJB Advisory Committee. She is also an active member of Crime Writers of Color.
