Why are we hosting this event?

Suicide is the #2 killer in Canadian men aged 15-44. As a group of men, we want to stand up to have the important conversation around the topic to help support our brothers, friends and sons.

All funds will support HeadsUp Guys, a local organization focused specifically on men's mental health. Together, we can make a difference and continue to support HeadsUp Guys vision where suicide is not a top 5 cause of death for men of any age.

Event Details:

A one of a kind whiskey tasting night filled with fun and prizes, but most importantly a night filled with conversation and raising funds to support mental health.

Taste over 30 whiskey's from around the world, enjoy food, participate in our silent and live auctions, win door prizes and hear from our special guests.

A bout HeadsUpGuys:

BETTER STARTS HERE. Strategies for Managing & Preventing Depression. FOR MEN. ABOUT MEN.

What started as a simple survey in the waiting room of a doctor’s office, became the catalyst for creating HeadsUpGuys. Men clearly indicated they were having suicidal thoughts on the survey, yet failed to mention these thoughts to the doctor they were about to see.

This led us to creating an online, anonymous resource specifically designed for men, and their families, to prevent the continued erosion of men’s mental health and deaths by suicide.

OUR VISION - a world where men make mental health a priority, and suicide is no longer a top 5 cause of death for men of any age.

OUR MANDATE - to improve mental health literacy among men, reduce stigma, arm men (and their friends, families, and communities) with strategies for effective self-management, and support their uptake of mental health services.
