After a successful event in Vancouver, join us for the next event of the South-Asian VC & Technology Association of Canada: Connecting Visionaries in Calgary! The association aims to bring together investors, entrepreneurs, operators, and service providers to support the South-Asian community and the technology ecosystem. The event will feature a 40-minute panel discussion with three of the prominent industry leaders, followed by networking time for our members and guests. This is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, learn about the latest trends and technologies, and build relationships with industry professionals.

Panelists:

• Irfhan Rawji (Managing Partner, Relay Ventures; Managing Partner, Realize Capital Partners; Founder & Executive Chair, MobSquad): Irfhan Rawji is Managing Partner with Relay Ventures, Managing Partner with Realize Capital Partners, and is founder and executive chair of Canadian start-up MobSquad. Irfhan serves on multiple corporate and non-profit boards including The Logic (Chair), Alate Properties, PBA Land & Development, Canadian Western Bank (TSX:CWB), the Institute for Canadian Citizenship, Business and the Arts, Venture for Canada, the Aga Khan Museum, CIFAR, and the Canada Council for the Arts. Irfhan holds an MBA with High Honors from Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar, and also hold a BCom with Honours from the University of British Columbia where he was a Wesbrook Scholar.

• Shahrukh Shamim (CEO and Co-Founder, EnviCore Inc.): Shahrukh Shamim is the CEO and Co-Founder of EnviCore Inc, a Calgary based company working to commercialize minerals repurposing technology. He holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Calgary with a focus on developing next generation tailings mitigation technology. He brings experience from the metals and manufacturing industries and holds a background in metallurgy and mining sector.

• Manpreet Deol (Investor, Inovia Capital): Manpreet joined Inovia's Venture Team in January 2023. Before joining Inovia, Manpreet completed an MBA and MSc from Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. Manpreet has been involved in multilateral policy making, most recently with the OECD’s Youth Advisory Board, where she focused on the future of work, digital connectivity, and emerging technologies. Manpreet completed her undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Biomedical Engineering minor from the University of Calgary as a Schulich Leader.

• Aly Khan Musani, CPA, CA (Chief Financial Officer, Symend): Aly is a finance and accounting executive with 20+ years of international operational and leadership experience.
