About this event
Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus St Patrick's Basilica Ottawa, as part of our social Ceildih tradition to recognize our heritage and raise money for charity, this year buying coats for school children who need them.

More about Anna Ludlow:
Originally hailing from Nova Scotia, Anna Ludlow has become a crowd favourite in Ottawa, performing at the Festival of Small Halls Ontario, Almonte Celtfest and Ottawa's own Bluesfest. She has performed many times on Parliament Hill, both as part of National Fiddling Day, as well as for Canada Day celebrations. Her album Reel to Reel drew nominations from both the East Coast Music Association as well as from Music Nova Scotia. In a few short weeks, Anna Ludlow will be starring as the lead fiddle player in the Broadway musical hit - Come From Away as it begins its year-long run in Toronto, Ontario.
Anna's performance is a description of the lively spirit of Maritime culture. Her music shares the stories of its rich and diverse history, all the while melding the tunes with a contemporary spin, making it new and fresh for todays generation.
She will be accompanied by touring Celtic & Jazz pianist Tyson Chen. He studied classical and popular music in Ottawa, where he grew up. In recent years, he has lived and breathed Celtic music in the heart of Cape Breton where he has become a popular piano accompanist among fiddlers. He has also recently explored the world of jazz music and is currently studying jazz and Celtic piano in Ottawa.
The Macdonald Highland Dancing School based in Ottawa has instructed hundreds of dancers over the decades . Offering lessons for over 50 years Ages 3 - Adult Director: Gillian Macdonald. The Sons of Scotland Pipe Band are the oldest civilian pipes and drums corps in Canada.
