This 6-week course (from June 29th, 2024-August 3rd 2024) is designed for youth (ages 11 and up) who are interested in exploring and developing their skills in charcoal drawing. Each 2-hour session will provide hands-on-learning experiences in a fun and supportive environment.
Students are required to bring their own materials, enabling them to practice the techniques learned at their own pace and comfort. The materials can be purchased affordably at Michael's for under $20.
Students will be introduced to following concepts:
-Line control and variation
-Value Scales
-Different charcoal blending techniques
-Reductive drawing
-Chiaroscuro drawing
-Still life drawing
-Basics of portrait drawing
