Summer Charcoal Drawing Workshop for Youth/Teens/Adults July 4-Aug 8, 2024

This 6-week course (from July 4th 2024-August 8th 2024) is designed for beginners (ages 11 and up, teens and adults are welcome!) who are interested in exploring and developing their skills in charcoal drawing. Each 2-hour session will provide hands-on-learning experiences in a fun and supportive environment.

Students are required to bring their own materials, enabling them to practice the techniques learned at their own pace and comfort. The materials can be purchased affordably at Michael's for under $20.

Students will be introduced to following concepts:

-Line control and variation

-Value Scales

-Different charcoal blending techniques

-Reductive drawing

-Chiaroscuro drawing

-Still life drawing

-Basics of portrait drawing
