What if it rains?

We proceed rain or moonshine. Should there be lightning or severe weather, we would ask that you remain in your vehicle or find other shelter to stay until the storm passes and then we would start the walk. Dress for the weather.

How long is each ghost walk?

Each ghost walk lasts approximately an hour and a half of easy walking.

How old should a child be to participate?

That depends upon the maturity of the individual child but generally age 10 or 11 is advisable.

The Kent Historical Society has existed since 1912 and offers free programs in Studio One of the Chatham Cultural Centre on a monthly basis from September to May except for December and February. Each program highlights a different aspect of Chatham and area's past with speakers on a variety of historical topics. The Society also sponsors special events such as ghost walks and Spirit Walks and hosts bus trips for members usually in June each year. For more information phone (519) 674-2322.
