Check-In & Overview

With the resilience embodiment and mindfulness practices that I teach, we will start off by checking in with our emotions and body sensations, to ground us and help us become more present.

Drumming & Singing with Teachings in Between

Resilience Embodiment check-in, Q&A and grounding support.

Summer Solstice & Indigenous Peoples Day Virtual Retreat 2024

Decolonize your Summer Solstice by celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day and learning Indigenous women's hand drum songs and teachings.

June is National Indigenous History Month in so-called Canada, Indigenous Peoples Day is June 21st and Summer Solstice this year is on June 20th, so join us and celebrate, while strengthening your allyship with Indigenous peoples.

Connect with other covid-cautious allies and Indigenous people.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS VIRTUAL RETREAT:

✰ Gather together in an inclusive Indigenous ceremony with hand drumming and singing (no drum needed but if you have one, bring it!).

✰ Spend time learning and experiencing Indigenous ways of knowing and being in a shame-free, blame-free, trauma-informed environment, as we say, "in a good way."

✰ Experience the healing power of Indigenous medicine songs.

Get your spot first and then go ahead and tell your covid-conscious sisters, mom, grandmas, aunties and non-binary loved ones. It will be an interactive experience to enjoy with other like-minded people.

All covid-conscious women and non-binary folx - Indigenous and allies - are welcome.

Brenda MacIntyre's virtual women's circles help women experiencing grief, trauma or chronic pain to feel lighter and feel some relief and a sense of sisterhood and belonging.

Join us virtually on Thursday June 13th, 2024 from 6:30 to 8:30pm Eastern time.

Brenda MacIntyre, also known by her Indigenous name Medicine Song Woman, is a JUNO-winning artist, healer and keynote speaker based in London Ontario. Nominated for the 2021 Ontario Arts Council Indigenous Arts Award, the mixed-blood Cree woman entrepreneur has appeared on CBC Radio & TV, Global, CTV, CityNews, Breakfast Television and a front page headline in the Toronto Star.

Brenda is a bit of a paradox. She is a covid-conscious Indigenous healer, intuitive and sci fi geek who follows the real science when it comes to infectious diseases, including Covid and Long Covid. She was adopted at birth, lost both her adoptive parents as a teenager and became disabled after losing her son to gun violence in 2016.

For over 20 years, Brenda has used her goosebump-giving voice, hand drumming, and unique Medicine Song Healing Technique to help women to find their voice and connect to Spirit. Through her signature Picking Up the Pieces 13 Moon Program, Brenda teaches women mindfulness embodiment practices for mental health.

From last year's chat:

"You’ve left me a lot to think about."

"I’m blown away for real!"

"Touched, deeply touched."

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be Indigenous to join?

Nope. These circles are open to ALL covid-conscious women, non-binary and 2-Spirit folx.

What is covid-conscious?

You are actively assessing your risk of catching and spreading COVID-19. You use mitigations like masking, air filtration, ventilation and avoiding or being cautious at large indoor gatherings. You watch for science and data updates to help you make decisions.

What if I don't have a drum or shaker and I don't want to sing?

Drums and shakers are optional. I will encourage you to sing along with some of the songs if your body will let you, and in my drumming circles, you can't get it wrong. It's about intention rather than perfection.
