Event description
Get the edge on your competitors with the Industrial Internet of Things, using Control Edge PLC and RTUs from Honeywell.

About this Event

In This Seminar Our Experts Will Cover:

1. IIoT- What Could This Mean to Your Business?

Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is the secure interconnection of devices over the Internet. It allows devices to communicate with us, with applications, and with other devices. The IIoT offers businesses unprecedented opportunities for gathering data and automating processes.

In this presentation, we will discuss how IIOT can impact your business. From asset management, to inventory management, to remote monitoring and control, implementing an IIOT application can have significant impact on your companies bottom line.

2. New flavors of PLC and SIL certified systems

ControlEdge is the latest in Honeywell’s PLC platform. This presentation will provide a technical review of the latest features and and how they are used to easily create an IIOT application. Applications covered will include those for data gathering, control and safety instrumented systems.

ControlEdge provides an IIoT-ready open platform, enabling users to better leverage data across their assets. Interoperable multi-level and multi-platform open communication provides flexible and scalable design, enabling standardization with less hardware. Plus, embedded cyber security helps improve compliance and availability and reduce risk. Features include secure boot to prevent uploading of unauthorized software, a built-in firewall, and a certified secure development lifecycle to ensure security is built in from the start.

3. “Take your Process Control to another level” – Experion LX

Experion LX is a cost-effective open control and safety system that expands the role of distributed control. It addresses critical manufacturing objectives to facilitate sharing knowledge and managing workflow. Experion LX provides a safe, robust, scalable, plantwide system with unprecedented connectivity through all levels of the plant. This presentation will provide an illustration of high-level view of the architecture and how the Experion LX facilitates knowledge capture, promote knowledge sharing, optimize work processes, ad accelerate improvement and innovation.

4. Data Overload: Making Sense of it All

Intuition platform help users make sense of all the data generated in their plant and across their enterprise by accessing it under one common platform. These software help users identify opportunities and risks, collaborate better across the enterprise, manage assets remotely, systematically monitor process plant performance data and summarize deviations.

5. Honeywell Industrial Cyber Security Solutions: Secure Media Exchange

These are interesting times for USB security. With increasing pressure to limit network access to industrial control systems, industrial plant dependence upon USB removable media to transfer information, files, patches and updates has been greater than ever. At the same time, research shows that USB media are one of the top threat vectors impacting industrial control systems (Source: BSI, 2016). Additionally, USB represents an even greater threat than spreading malware, with devices utilizing BadUSB and other techniques crafted specifically to attack via the USB interface readily available online, and so these have increasingly been weaponized. Consequently, Honeywell developed SMX (Secure Media eXchange), a system which actively detects and prevents direct transfer of malware into secured plant and network environments. Even though many threats have been known for some time, 5% of threats discovered by SMX were completely undetectable by all commercial anti-malware solutions recently tested (and remain undetectable at the time this was written). SMX’s capabilities will be demonstrated.
