The Salvation Army, Central York Region offers mental health services, through two hired psychotherapists who deliver individual/family group therapy. Currently, 60 people per week attend group sessions and in 2023 the psychotherapists provided 1000 hours of individual counselling services.
But needs have grown in the last few years, and it is essential that we grow this program to meet the desperate needs of our community.
We cordially invite you to our second charity gala, aimed at raising funds for mental health services offered by The Salvation Army, Central York Region.
The gala will feature a spectacular evening of
- live music and dancing (The Flailing Shilaleighs)
- illusions with Wij the Magician
- live auction facilitated by Mike Smith, President of Smith Rogers Financial (it will include lunch for two with Mayor Tom Mrakas and Artwork by Adubi ‘Dubi’ Akinola. Other items to be posted soon)
- inspiring speeches by mental health advocates
- food and drinks (non-alcoholic) donated by local vendors
By purchasing a ticket to this event, you treat yourself to a memorable night out and contribute to an increasingly important issue in our community!
As this is a "mocktail party" there are no set tables to allow for mingling and connection. Businesses and groups are encouraged to attend. One person can purchase for the group.
Several local dignitaries are expected to be in attendance which includes our emcee, Christina Pearo, Yes TV.
