About the Presentation
The Supply of Energy Metals....Is the projected increased demand all hype?
The panel will discuss key challenges and issues facing the road ahead for the supply and production of Energy Metals, in Canada, in the Americas and Internationally. This assuming the large projected growth in electrification of transport, battery manufacture with the expected massive increase in EV sales. Viewpoints to be provided from our panel members from the Finance and Capital markets, Corporate strategy, Metals Processing and Process Engineering sectors.
Some key questions to be considered are:
- What are the Energy Metals and products ?
- Is the projected higher Energy Metals demand mostly hype?
- Will there be sufficient supply of Energy Metals, such as Copper, Lithium, Cobalt, and Nickel, to meet this higher projected demand?
- Will Energy Metals demand taper off with the expected increased EV sales not materializing?
- Do net CO2 emissions derived from producing Energy Metals conflict with the drive to electrification and a sustainable future ?
- Will the cost of mining, extraction and production of these metals simply be too high and make the cost of EV vehicles non-economic ?
- Where will all the capital come from?
- Do we have enough skilled human resources required to support the exploration, mining, extracting and producing of such Energy Metals?
- Where will all the additional electrical energy (mega-joules) be generated from?
- What are possible roads ahead to limit rises in ocean temperatures and CO2 gas emissions levels?
The session over lunch will provide:
- Pertinent perspectives from our guest panelists - each with brief responses / ideas / thoughts on pre-received questions.
- Panelist’s answers / thoughts from your questions or comments raised from the floor!
- Networking opportunities, before and after…
- Stimulating conversations and debate during and following a tasty plated lunch with coffee/tea
