About the session:
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder is common and deadly. 40% of people who survived an opiate overdose met criteria for PTSD. Closer to home, many of the complex patients in our practice, who have not responded to other treatments, have PTSD. Knowing how to recognize, approach and manage people who suffer with this condition can be very rewarding. If you have been able to gain their trust and you’ve been able to manage their mood and behavioural dysregulation, maybe now you’d consider a course of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. Most of the research in this area refers to MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD, but other psychedelics can be just as effective. Dr. Ocana will walk you through some challenging case studies and share practical insights into the psychedelic assisted treatment of this important disorder.
