MORE ABOUT LOVE MY MIND...

The Love My Mind Non Profit Initiative was founded in memory of Mark

Anderson, who struggled for years from addiction and depression. Mark took his life in

November of 2018 and during the grieving period his family recognized a desperate need

for awareness, support, and open dialogue surrounding mental health. The Love My Mind Mental Health & Addiction Awareness Initiative was founded in Mark’s memory to

become a voice that he always wanted to use, but sadly never did. Along the way founder,

Darren Anderson, began to develop many important partnerships within the mental health

community. These professionals ranged from addiction counsellors, mental health speakers,

advocates, business owners, coaches, teachers and corporate partners.

As a direct result of these partnerships, Love My Mind has made a significant impact in our

5 years of existence providing financial support for treatments, support systems, offering

education, providing resources, sponsorships giving close to $500,000 to our community.

In 2022 we were a finalist at the SABEX awards as one of the top organizations in the

Community Impact award category. We always have several new projects, initiatives,

and collaborations that we are asked to participate in as well as assisting our professional partners

grow their businesses so they can continue to offer support within our communities.

We also get involved with local events, conferences, and workshops as this where our sponsorship

dollars are being spent. With the growth of our brand, it has been sometimes tough to navigate

where to help as obviously it always comes down to time and finances. Tough to plan as we just go

with where there is a need as mental health seems to change daily so we always need to be

aware of what and where the need is a priority…

For now, we continue to have conversations with the people who reach out for support and grow our professional partners to help eliminate wait times for those who reach out looking for support and placing them in front of our partners for conversation and support. Together with our Love My Mind community we continue to offer support, acceptance, and awareness for mental health compounded by the effects of the pandemic and the cost of living has had on our friends, family, and ourselves.

"We are not all in the same boat...We are however all in the same storm. Some are on

massive yachts...some on speed boats and some just have one oar!"
