Event description
Let's get creative! Learn the basics of Processing, a programming software used to create art with just a few lines of code!

About this Event

Terranaut Club President and coder extraordinaire Danielle Quinn will teach us about how code can be used to generate digital art using software called Processing. You'll learn the basics of programming, find your favourite hexidecimal colours, and create nature-inspired digital art. We can't wait to see what you create!

This event is FREE, but parents and guardians are encouraged to support our organization if they can, either through a donation on our website, or through our current Sticker & Magnet Fundraiser.

Who can attend?

To join this Workshop, participants must be girls or gender minorities aged 12 - 15 and reside in Atlantic Canada.

To ensure that girls across Atlantic Canada have the opportunity to participate in our summer programs, we ask that each person attends a maximum of three of our 2020 Online Summer Series programs (not including reunions). Those who attend and participate in three programs (including reunions) will also receive a special reward!

About Terranaut Club

Terranaut Club is a non-profit organization based in Nova Scotia that offers science and nature exploration programs for girls and gender minorities at highly subsidized rates. We specifically aim to work with participants from underprivileged and/or underrepresented backgrounds, and our mission is to encourage them to pursue STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) careers, and to become environmental leaders in their own communities.

We were forced to postpone our signature hands-on summer programs until 2021, so we've developed our first "Online Summer Series" to create opportunities for us to engage with our amazing participants!

Let's get through this strange summer together!
