Join us on June 1st, 2024, at The Westin Harbour Castle for an inspiring Writer’s Circle with Warda Youssouf, celebrating her first solo exhibit, "Ancestor Project: Goddesses." This special event, part of her residency with Westin x ArtworksTO, will be a grounding experience to share your writing and connect with others in a supportive circle.

Description:
Celebrate the opening of Warda Youssouf's first solo exhibit, "Ancestor Project: Goddesses," with a Writer’s Circle on the beautiful rooftop terrace of The Westin Harbour Castle. This event will be held on June 1st from 2 pm to 6 pm, offering a serene waterfront setting to get grounded, share your writing, and connect with others.
Bring your blankets and cushions for a comfortable, Somali-style seating arrangement (weather permitting). Don’t forget your pen, paper, or preferred writing tools, along with an open mind and balanced energy. This circle is open to everyone, from seasoned writers to those who write for fun or are simply curious.

About the Artist:
Warda Youssouf is an artist and arts organizer based in Toronto. Born in Djibouti and raised in the UK, she is an alum of ArtworksTO and the recipient of the David Maltby Award in 2019 for her exhibition “Roots.” Warda's multidisciplinary practice spans visual art, theatre, poetry, painting, and puppetry, engaging with themes of home, sexuality, identity, and displacement. She has been an active community organizer, curating storytelling shows and art therapy events. During the pandemic, she founded House Of Arts, a space for emerging creatives. Currently, Warda is wrapping a contract as Engagement Coordinator for the Toronto Youth Equity and Strategy Initiative ResilienTOgether.
