W e had so much fun hosting Kids Camp 2022 AND 2023 that we're doing it again in July AND August 2024!

A summer kids camp like no other! This kids camp is for the individual who enjoys hands-on activities, has an interest in baking and cooking, and loves the outdoors. After 6 years of teaching in a college setting, Lauren has expanded her detailed and attentive instruction to a younger generation. This kids camp will be jam packed full of fun activities. This particular camp is for 6-12 year olds. During each of the 3 days of the camp, everyone will be participating in a variety of activities involving preparing wholesome foods for lunch, from scratch in a certified kitchen, team building exercises, and individual creative projects. Programming may include, but is not limited to:

- Working with and milling fresh whole grains to make their own pasta, pizza dough, breads, through guided instruction and detailed hands-on assistance. We'll use their creations to prepare wholesome lunches, created by the day campers themselves. Each year the fruit sushi and 7 ft long whole wheat pasta noodle were among the fan favourites!

- Team working to clean up the kitchen after our lunch and snack preparations

- Working together to make fresh butter by hand!

- Making sun-tea with wild sumac

- Garden tour and discussions on the cycle of food -- from seed, to vegetable, to compost

- Various nature and team themed activities in a fully fenced in property

- A healthy lunch and 2 snacks each day are provided -- simply pack up your child with a bottle of sunscreen and a refillable water bottle and leave them with me for the day.

The camp runs from Wednesday-Friday, 9am-3:30pm.

Prior to camp beginning, you will be emailed a registration questionnaire and a liability waiver. Both forms will need to be completed 2 weeks prior to our camp start date. The questionnaire will assist with handling dietary restrictions, etc. Most dietary restrictions can be accommodated, however please be aware that this is a baking studio where quite a lot of bread is created, and flour and whole grains are a large part of what is prepared here. Breads and baking will be a part of the programming during camp.

For parents who signed their children up in previous years -- the programming will be altered so that we won't be repeating all of the exact same recipes and activities. The ideas are new and fresh for your kids!
