Comfort Toolkits: Coping & Self-Soothing to Prevent Crisis

Life can feel overwhelming, and when stress builds, it’s easy to move closer to burnout or crisis without realizing it. Join us at Healthy Minds Cooperative for Comfort Toolkits: Coping & Self-Soothing to Prevent Crisis. This interactive, skills-based workshop is designed to help you build a practical, personalized toolkit to help you regulate and manage emotional overwhelm, and care for yourself before things escalate.

This workshop centers on prevention, empowerment, and compassion. You’ll learn how to recognize emotional distress when it happens and respond with effective coping and self-soothing strategies that actually work for you.

What You’ll Learn

  • How stress and overwhelm show up in the body & how to use those cues to guide you to use a coping or self-soothing skill to prevent further escilation or crisis
  • Grounding, sensory, and emotional regulation tools you can use anytime
  • How to build a personalized self-soothing comfort toolkit for daily life and high-stress moments
  • Ways to reduce emotional distress in the moment that are realistic, accessible, and sustainable

What You’ll Walk Away With

  • A customized self-soothing comfort toolkit you can use immediately (self-soothing items for toolkit provided by Healthy Minds Cooperative!)
  • Increased awareness of your personal stress signals (ie. knowledge of when to act to prevent crisis)
  • Practical tools to reduce overwhelm and prevent emotional escalation
  • Greater confidence in caring for yourself during difficult moments

What to Expect

This workshop is trauma-informed, interactive, and supportive. This is not therapy, but a skill-building space focused on prevention and empowering you to support yourself when times are tough. Participants will leave with their own self-soothing comfort toolkit and knowledge of how to further customize your kit for your specific needs.

Come as you are. Leave with tools you can rely on.

If you have any questions, concerns, or accessibility needs, please email Marisa, Community Outreach Coordinator at Healthy Minds Cooperative.
