Pastoralist Child Foundation

Pastoralist Child Foundation (PCF) was founded in 2012. The organization is a registered 501C3 tax-exempt public charity based in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. PCF works at the grassroots level to end female genital mutilation (FGM) and forced early marriage in Samburu and Maasai Mara, Kenya. Our workshops and community dialogues for youth, adults and elders have been highly effective in saving girls and women from harmful practices that are deeply rooted in their culture. PCF also focuses on the importance of formal education and has a scholarship program for girls to attend secondary boarding schools and universities. Our scholarship program began in 2014 and many girls have graduated from secondary schools and colleges & universities. We also identify and mentor women's self-help groups where members generate income to send more girls to school.
