Dean Kirby is bestselling author, a historian, tour guide and genealogist, with a PHD in urban history. He wrote his debut book, Angel Meadow: Victorian Britain's Most Savage Slum, after discovering his ancestors lived in the district when it was a nineteenth century slum. He now leads guided walking tours of the area while writing his second book.
